Tax Intern

 

Broad Function / Responsibilities:

Support the Tax Department with various tax related tasks. Duties will include training to be proficient in various matters related to sales tax, property tax, and income tax processes, including the following:

1)   Prepare Excel work papers to help complete various types of tax assignments, including reconciliations for tax audits and schedules for the income tax provision and returns.

2)   Contact state taxing authorities as needed to help resolve tax notices and questions.

3)   Review customer sales tax exemption certificates for accuracy and completeness.

4)   Log, code, and review incoming tax credit requests.

5)   Assist with incoming mail and email for the tax department.

6)   Copy, scan and organize tax documents needed for record keeping and audit purposes.

7)   Assist with data gathering, data entry, and reconciliations for special assignments, such as Asset Management and Refund Claims.

8)   Use Microsoft Word to generate letters, including use of the mail merge function for customer mailings needed during tax audits.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Solution-oriented, “can-do” attitude

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • The ability manage multiple priorities is needed for success

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate Excel required

  • Ability to work within a changing environment
