BakerCorp serves customers in over 15 industries including oil and gas, industrial and environmental services, refining, environmental remediation, construction, chemicals, transportation, power and municipal works. The company also works with customers to deliver a mix of products and services for a wide variety of applications that include: chemical, manufacturing, refining, construction, municipal, industrial services, environmental remediation, power generation, tank terminal/pipeline operations, transportation, mining, electronics and wastewater.

 

Financial Analyst 

 

Broad Function:  The Financial Analyst will be responsible for effectively analyzing and monitoring the financial data and performance for the Company.

 

Essential Functions

- Develop models / tools to assess financial performance compared to plan and forecast

- Monitor and analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators as a basis to provide decision support and recommendations to the management team

- Update key financial data slides in the Monthly Board of Directors presentation

- Assist in the development of the annual plan and recurring forecast updates throughout the year

- Manage the loading and ensure data integrity of specific data sets into the EPM system

- Track and measure financial effectiveness of company initiatives

- Develop ad‐hoc financial reports and models for senior management to aid in effective planning/forecasting and performance evaluation for various key metrics

- Automate current processes to increase productivity and reduce the potential for manual process errors

- Guide cost analysis providing trends and forecasts to help cost center leaders manage expenses

 

Working Conditions

- Primarily working indoors in a regular office environment

- Occasional exposure to outdoor and indoor field, yard, and shop locations

- Exposure to dust and noise

- Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment as necessary

Communication:

- Ability to summarize and present information to level appropriate for the stakeholder

- Presentation and negotiation skills. The ability to communicate effectively to these different groups is an important attribute of success

- Interpersonal skills. Ability to work with all levels of the Company

 

Proven Analytical Skills:

- Ability to visualize, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts, and make sensible decisions based on available information

- Demonstrate the ability to apply logical thinking to gathering and analyzing information, designing and testing solutions to problems, and formulating plans

- Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized with attention to detail

- Ability and willingness to seek out areas for improvement and solve problems

- Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial analysis principles and methods

 

Independent:

- Ability to work independently, to develop and integrate without extensive supervision and direction

- Strong sense of ethics, discretion and adherence to process

- Flexibility. This role will require a willingness to take on tasks outside of the job responsibilities

- Passionate, energetic, dedicated and enthusiastic team player

 

Technical Skills:

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

- Extensive knowledge of Excel and understanding of ERP/analytical software; ability to create models, reporting and templates using EPM or other ERP software

 

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

- MBA a plus but not required

 

Experience & Other

- A minimum of 3 years of experience providing financial reporting and guidance in a similar role

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong collaborative skills

- Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to provide recommendations to management
