Broad Function

Assist the Compliance Manager with execution of the company’s complex drug, alcohol and background testing requirements while maintaining the business license programs. 

Essential Functions

  • Provides oversight to ensure company’s drug and alcohol testing programs are compliant with DOT and customer requirements.
  • Works closely with Branch Managers, Human Resources and consortiums to coordinate required background checks for customer site access
  • Maintain various third party databases (DISA, ASAP, NCMS) to monitor and track employees status
  • Serve as the Company’s Designated Employer Representative (DER)           
  • Coordinate with Human Resources during employee onboarding
  • Process new and annual business licenses
  • Audit CSC invoices and process for payment
  • Audit the License expire report
  • Work with Director, Global Real Estate & Licensing to ensure all licenses at branches are up-to-date and properly displayed
  • Assist with Compliance database (ISN, Avetta, Browz, etc.) maintenance
  • Coordinate required customer drug screening and background checks
  • Provide insurance coverage information to customers and vendors
  • Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions

  • Primarily working indoors in a regular office environment. Some exposure to dust and noise.  Personal Protective equipment may be necessary in yard locations.
  Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of OSHA/DOT and substance abuse regulations and 3rd party databases
  • Basic understanding of U.S. D.O.T. laws and regulations, and an ability to interpret those requirements so that they can be translated into compliance activities.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments
  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively about solutions
  • Flexibility to change direction easily and quickly

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  Experience & Other

  • 2+ years’ administrative and/or operations experience 
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regulating environmental, health, safety processes, transportation.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
